Narrative text

Hi, guys. Welcome back again!!

So on this occasion I'll share about Narrative text. For more details, let's check this out!

Narrative text

Narrative text is a type of text that has the aim of entertaining the reader, because narrative text itself tells a fictional story, therefore the stories contained in narrative texts are not necessarily true.

General structure of narrative text

In general, there are four stages in narrative text, namely:

1. Orientation:
At this stage, it contains the introduction of the character to the setting of the place and time that is happening. This stage is also known as the introduction
2. Complications
This stage tells about the problems that are happening until they get to the top of the problems being faced.
3. Resolution
At this stage, it is told whether the main character can solve the problem well or not, then it will determine the end of the story, whether it is a happy ending or a sad ending.
4. Re-orientation
The closing part of a story can contain a moral message or something else.

Characteristics of narrative text

Narrative text has characteristics, namely:

1. Narrative text raises stories that come from the past
2. Nouns are used to replace animal and person pronouns.
3. More familiar with folk tales that are retold.
4. The elements of narrative text consist of characters, plot, theme, setting of place and time, conflict and resolution.

If you want to try to make a narrative text to complete an assignment or maybe you just want to learn to hone and develop your writing skills, you can follow these steps:

  1. Determine the main character, you can determine the main character in the form of humans or animals according to what you want.
  2. Determine the setting of the place and time
  3. Then determine the main problem that will be faced by the main character.
  4. Then determine the solution to the problem at hand.

In addition to the steps for making a narrative text, here I will include the linguistic features of the narrative text that will be used to make the narrative text itself. The following are the linguistic features of narrative text:
