Descriptive text

Descriptive text is a text that aims to explain or describe something. It can be human, animal, or something else.

Descriptive text focuses more on the object, then the object is discussed in more detail in the descriptive text. Descriptive text is also often said to be the same as recount text, but in reality they are different. Indeed, there are some similarities, but what distinguishes the two is where descriptive text is more detailed in describing something.

General structure of Descriptive text

1. Identification, Contains about the introduction of a person, place, animal or object will be described.

2. Description, Contains a description of object by describing its features, forms, colors, or anything related to what the writer describe.


The language features of Descriptive text

1. Descriptive text focus on specific participants

2. Use of simple present tense

3. Use of simple past tense if heredity

4. Use of Verb

5. Use of Descriptive adjective

6. Use of detailed noun

7. Use action verbs

8. Use of adverbial

9. Use of figurative language.
